Services

We provide a full GP service to Otago Polytechnic students who have paid the Student Health Levy.

The Centre offers a welcoming, friendly and relaxed environment.

As well as providing care during episodes of illness, we are always ready to advise on non illness matters (e.g. health maintenance, contraception, immunisations, etc).

There is a charge for some services, however an appointment with a doctor is Free if you have a current Community Services Card, otherwise the charge is $15.

Nurse consultations are free although some charges apply for medication and dressings etc.

We encourage students to accept responsibility for health decisions. Health education and promotion is a priority with us.

  • Appointments can be made for doctors, nurses or counsellors by contacting the receptionist.
  • Students who hold a Community Services Card will be required to produce it when attending Student Health.
  • Health screening tests, such as eye and skin check, hearing and smear tests are available.  Wart clinics are held each Wednesday.
  • Students are invited to visit the Clinic to obtain information on health and lifestyle issues. Up-to-date displays and pamphlets are available.  The staff are always ready to talk to you and answer your questions.
