The School of Veterinary Nursing is a leader in the provision of distance education. The advantages lie in its flexibility – students can study when it suits their schedule, and extend or compress their timeframe of learning.

Thanks to our online resources, traditional challenges unique to distance-based learning are no longer major issues. Assistance is always on hand through our extensive support systems which includes:

  • Practical block courses
  • Materials and assignments provided via the internet
  • Internet tutorials
  • Learning Management System – MOODLE
  • Communication through School 0800 telephone, fax, email and the internet (It is complusory that intending students have access to email and the internet)

All of Otago Polytechnic's Veterinary Nursing programmes are available via distance learning. We also offer the National Certificate in Veterinary Nursing on campus full-time.
