Tracy has been the Manager of the Dfi since June 2009 and is a Senior Lecturer with the School of Design (Fashion) where she has taught since 1998.

Tracy currently manages the Dfi alongside teaching on a professional practice studio paper incorporating fashion production and marketing. Tracy is involved in various other projects within the design school and the Otago Institute of Design of which the Dfi is a part.

Tracy liaises closely with the fashion industry and the business community as part of her roles as Dfi manager and educator.

In another life Tracy has worked for a large knitwear manufacturer and has run her own small knitwear design business.

Tracy has a particular interest in sustainable models within the fashion industry and the implications for educators; and has a passion for developing successful designers and supporting entrepreneurial endeavours.

Tracy’s current research (and another passion) involves working collaboratively with both the apparel industry and education in developing and enabling local digital textile print capabilities for fashion fabrics.
