My background is in architecture and I am particularly interested in representing built space; making drawings that move beyond pure construction to embody spatial and emotive qualities.  I teach both drawing and design studios where students focus on creating cohesive and engaging design presentations using both hand drawn and digital media.

I joined the Interior Design programme from the architecture industry.  After completing a BArch(Hons) at Victoria University in Wellington I worked on a wide range of building projects in architecture firms in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom. While overseas I became fascinated with regenerating existing buildings to create new community space, especially on tight or small sites; this is now a core theme in my current research interests.  Returning home in 2008 I pursued my love of graphic layout and visual communication with a GradDip in Communication Design from Otago Polytechnic.
