I have been working in the School of Design since 2007. I currently teach creative process, life drawing, project drawing and painting in the Certificate in Creative Studies programme.
My teaching practice is informed by my art practice. Since graduating with a BFA from Otago Polytechnic School of Art in 2006 I have been building my reputation as an emerging artist in the South Island. In 2009 I won the COCA Anthony Harper Contemporary Art award in Christchurch and in 2010 the Edinburgh Realty Art Award in Dunedin. Oil painting my preferred medium, though drawing is also an important part of my process. Making art has become part a daily life for me. I am particularly interested in how memory and experience are revealed through making.
