Caro McCaw, Academic Leader (Communication)

Contact Me

As Academic Leader (Communication) I have my fingers in lots of pies!

I am always involved in a wide range of creative projects and love to work in teams.

Dunedin’s dynamic locale enables us to develop amazing and transformative designs with our community, and Otago Polytechnic School of Design is an exciting hub for this activity.

Some of my recent academic and professional work has been developing critical positions surrounding art, design and their contexts in both local and digital media environments. Alongside this I have worked in students-staff teams on the design and production of digital and interactive exhibits at the Otago Museum, and Otago Settlers Museum through both teaching and the Otago Institute of Design.

I teach across a range of courses, from Design Culture and Context, Graphic Design and Interaction Design, through to Interdisciplinary and Studio Projects.

I am friendly and bossy and chatty and like to surround myself with creative people.

I am a member of Aotearoa Digital Arts network, sits on various community arts committees, and is currently writing her PhD through Queensland College of the Arts, Brisbane.
