These programmes are designed specifically for Queenstown Lakes businesses to improve the resilience of their business and to provide economic, social and environmental benefits.
The programmes are delivered by the Centre for Sustainable Practice through workshops and one-to-one advisory services in Queenstown or Wanaka.
A steering group is overseeing the programmes with representatives from Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC), Destination Queenstown (DQ), Lake Wanaka Tourism, the Queenstown Chamber of Commerce and Otago Polytechnic. The programme is supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Ministry for the Environment, as part of the Sustainable Tourism Advisors in Regions (STAR) programme.
The programmes will equip businesses with the necessary knowledge, values and skills to evaluate, implement and manage sustainable practice within their respective business environments. The programmes empower business with a framework for contributing to the resilience of the Queenstown Lakes District and New Zealand.
