Art and Medicine Symposium

The Art and Medicine Symposium hosted by the Dunedin School of Art at the Otago Polytechnic and the Dunedin School of Medicine, University of Otago on 26 August 2011. The symposium was organised by Peter Stupples, Senior Lecturer in Art History and Theory, Dunedin School of Art .

Suture Self: an exhibition curated by Victoria Bell with Neil Emmerson and Clive Humphreys. 

The Textiles Studio, Dunedin School of Art at Otago Polytechnic – Te Kura Matatini ki Otago presented Suture Self, a group exhibition exploring Textile sensibilities in relation to notions of the Body.

 

 

Suture Self: an exhibition curated by Victoria Bell with Neil Emmerson and Clive Humphreys. 

Artists who have trained in Textiles at the Dunedin School of Art, or have a relationship to the Studio have been selected to show in Suture Self . An essay by Bridie Lonie accompanied the exhibition. The show is part of the Art and Medicine Symposium, hosted by the Dunedin School of Art and the Dunedin School of Medicine, University of Otago, on Friday 26 August, 2011.

Featuring Artists:  Jenny Bain, Michele Beevors, Victoria Bell, Neil Emmerson, Tenille Lategan, Simone Montgomery, Karen Taiaroa.
