International Students

International students at the Dunedin School of Art at Otago Polytechnic

Art is an international language understood by people who immerse themselves in the making of art and in responding to art. At the Dunedin School of Art at Otago Polytechnic in New Zealand we welcome international students for the diversity and quality of their cultural histories, for the range of arts-based work they contribute to our community of artists and writers. Each international student enriches our lives and enables us to better understand another culture. In a gesture of reciprocity, we aim to make each and every international student feel welcome and supported within our school community.

Dunedin School of Art

Welcome to the Dunedin School of Art, Otago Polytechnic.

Dunedin is one of the four main centres of Aotearoa New Zealand. It is situated on the east coast of the South Island Te Wai Pounamu.

Dunedin is the principal city of Otago, a region which stretches from the mountains, across alpine tussock lands, river valleys to the sea.

The name Dunedin comes from Dùn Èideann, the Scottish Gaelic name for Edinburgh. It is a University City, population 120,000.

The Campus is centally located and close to the harbour and surrounding hills.
