The Kitchen – an interactive resource providing food safety training is now available for purchase. This distance-learning Basic Food Safety resource is an easy, cost-effective way to equip your employees with the basic food-handling skills necessary for the safe operation of a commercial food production premise, replacing the need to attend formal external training courses. Your staff can complete the programme at any time of the day or night, onsite or in their own homes. Individuals may also complete this programme in preparation to enter employment in the food industry.
How to learn your basic food safety:
The Kitchen is an industry-designed distance resource aimed at delivering Basic Food Safety in an interactive, time and cost effective way. Students will learn their responsibilities as a food-handler in a commercial kitchen enabling them to gain the necessary accreditation for employment.
Topics include:
- Hygienic food-handling
- Workplace cleanliness
- Personal hygiene
- Monitoring and control of food safety
Completion of the programme takes two hours. Students who have completed the programme may undertake the assessment for Unit Standard 167: Practise food safety methods in a food business; a qualification required by many employees in the industry.
