This is a programme for serious artists looking to develop further as articulate practitioners. It is designed to extend your critical capacity, cultural knowledge, studio experience and intellectual development. You will choose a studio research project according to your own artistic medium and complete a dissertation in order to articulate your position in relation to your professional colleagues and international community of practice. The programme's particular strengths lie in the integration of the theoretical and studio components.
An undergraduate qualification consisting of a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts or equivalent four year course with a B pass average or better is required. In the case of the degree having been granted after a three year programme the candidate must have achieved an A pass average in the major subject. These academic entry requirements may be waived on submission of a current portfolio and a related project proposal which is then approved by the MFA Admissions Committee.
You will be required to submit a research proposal, a portfolio, curriculum vitae, samples of your writing and three referee reports.
English language skills equivalent to an IELTS overall band score (academic) of 6.5, with no individual score less 6.0.
