Research is imperative for each and every company, business and organisation. It is also critical to the design process.
At the Otago Institute of Design, we seek to expand the boundaries of thinking and doing through research. Within the OiD there are a number of ways to benefit from and engage in research – both through the Applied Design Research Centre, which will undertake all manner of projects from the ‘outside world’, and through our education programmes.

Staff Research
Utilising the staff at the Otago Polytechnic School of Design and the University of Otago School of Design, the OiD has an extensive research database.
With such resources within the OiD, students are included in projects whenever possible. Staff engages with our student-ran projects ensuring an elite commercial outcome.
