Otago Polytechnic’s annual student showcase EXCITE is back and gearing-up to be bigger than ever! The campus atmosphere is a-buzz with anticipation as students work round-the-clock on their end of year projects.

Just some of the highlights include the School of Hospitality’s artistic yet totally edible chocolate and sugar sculptures or the School of Fashion’s Collections ’08 where eighty designers and two hours of entertainment at an edgy industrial venue make for a not-to-be-missed fashion event!

Similarly, the School of Art’s ‘Site’ exhibition is a sure-fire hit, pulling in the crowds with its high calibre and at times intriguing works. And be sure to come along to our student-built Charity House Auction which last year raised $100,000 for Dunedin’s most needy charities.

"Our students are working hard to get their end of year work finished and Schools are busy helping them with their exhibitions and events. It's a real highlight of our year to see such creative talent on display – the work our students produce is nothing short of inspiring” says EXCITE Executive Project Coordinator D'Arcy Dalzell.

“With the Otago Polytechnic doors thrown wide open for EXCITE, I hope the Dunedin public will take advantage and come along and see for themselves!"

This event is a rare opportunity to experience up-close the creativity, innovation and technical skills developed behind the scenes in the classrooms and at the drawing-board. If your interest lies in carpentry, health, computing or design – EXCITE has something for everyone.
