This exhibition will showcase some examples of the 2009 graduating students’ work and provides a glimpse of the breadth of project work undertaken over the last three years.
Interior design is concerned with spatial design and the interaction of humans within that space and also involves establishing the emotional connections between spaces and the people who inhabit them. As designers this means being intuitive and responsive to people’s needs and the environment.
Interior design involves creating spaces that are pleasurable to be in but also fit with the intended purpose and functions required. Interior design requires us to be effective communicators, to interpret the needs of the people we work with and to be able to visually communicate this through design. As a discipline, interior design requires that we form relationships with, and have a broad knowledge of other professions connected with building and design, including architecture, building and construction.
As the 2009 graduates, we leave here with a passion and commitment for design and look forward to applying our creativity, knowledge and skills.
