Ceremonies

Graduations are a great opportunity for students to celebrate all their hard work and achievements with family and friends.

Otago Polytechnic holds two formal graduation ceremonies a year, in March and December, at the Dunedin Town Hall.

Students must graduate within 14 months of attaining their qualifications.

Graduation date

12 March 2010

Graduation attendance forms

Information for Graduand's booklets are distributed to eligible students approximately two months prior to a ceremony.  A Graduation attendance form is enclosed with the booklet and must be returned by the due date.

Graduands may receive their award:

  • in person at a ceremony
  • in absentia, which means it will be posted out

If no form is received, it will be presumed the student is graduating in absentia.

Arrangements can be made for graduates to collect their awards from the School/Department after the Graduation ceremony.

Tickets

Otago Polytechnic graduands who are attending a ceremony, do not require a ticket for themselves.  Three guest tickets are automatically allocated to them on receipt of their Graduation Attendance Form.

Extra guest tickets are allocated on a first-in-first-served basis, and can be applied for on the Graduation Attendance Form.

Special needs

If you or any of your guests require any special seating arrangements, please put this information on the Graduation Attendance Form.  Lift access to the stage can be arranged for graduands who require assistance with stairs.

Department/School functions

Graduands may like to attend their individual Department/School Graduation function.  Details of other Graduation celebrations to be held are printed in the Information for Graduands Booklets.
