This Investment Plan is driven by our Strategy 2008 – 2012 and addresses the relevant Government’s Tertiary Education strategies and priorities, TES and STEP. The Plan has been prepared in consultation with our stakeholders and in collaboration with the Tertiary Education Commission. This Investment Plan is effectively our organisational-wide business plan. Giving effect to our strategy the Investment Plan is supported at another level by strategic frameworks which in turn support our priorities and business plans at a School and Service level. Our ability to deliver the plan is conditional on the Government funding we receive for programmes and activities, and for servicing, supporting, monitoring, reporting and auditing its successful implementation.
Our expectation is that the Tertiary Education Commission will provide ongoing support for our role as the regional provider and ensure that duplicative provision by other publicly funded providers does not occur. We have the capacity and capability to meet the Region’s needs at the basic and generic, technical, degree and specialised levels. The fundamental issue is how the Tertiary Education Commission addresses regionalisation and the TES/STEP and provides adequate ongoing funding for Otago Polytechnic to deliver on the government’s objectives.
